Skiers can sign up at registration on Friday evening or Saturday AM for a new catagory in the 2006 24 Hours of Telemark!
We will now have a 6 Hour Duo Open Class for those folks looking for a lighter (by light of day) team catagory starting at 10AM and finishing at 4PM. This catagory will also be parent friendly for those who need to take turns watching the little ones. We may be able to combine some pre-registed 3-hour solo skiers into this new 6-hour Duo class; email Harry.
We look forward seeing you at this years event. The 24T gang.
Infinity Ski Pole will be on site and will have extra poles available to loan out if someone has an issue with their equipment.
Check out this article about this year's race.

On Dec 30 we got about 8-9 inches of fresh snow at Telemark Resort. Jack Moin's grooming crew have been working 12-hour days buffing the 24T course and we expect to have some the best conditions ever. We look forward seeing all our returning friends and new faces the the 6th Annual 24 Hours of Telemark. Cheers for the New Year. The 24T Gang.
Things are really shaping up for the 2006 24T. As of Wednesday, 28th of December, we are getting some light snow at Telemark Resort with more in the forecast for Friday. This added fluff on top of our firm base will help make the course as good as ever. There are currently skiable conditions in Sawyer and Bayfield on many of the groomed trail systems.

If you jump into the ring, you just might win some really cool stuff. Our
sponsors have been very generous this year and we have rounded up some great
products for our Mega Schwagg drawings. Everyone should leave with something,
but the lucky ones could land something from Thule, Mountain Hardwear, CycleOps,
NiteRider, Timex, Borah, Swix, Rutabaga, Jytte, or the American Birkebeiner.
Additional suppliers include Accelerade, HotHands/Toostie Toes, Mooselips
Java Joint, Cross Country Skier Magazine, Silent Sports, and Cable & Hayward
area local merchants.
And everyone will receive an event hat and other bag goodies.
During the 24T weekend, the special rate is $79/night vs. the regular
$94/night rate. There are also special rates available on some of the
Condos.
The deadline for this special deal is 15/Dec; so it pays to book early.
Click on the Lodging link(on the left) to go to the Telemark Resort
site or call 877-798-4718 (toll free) or 715-798-3999.
If you have a squad but are looking for additional members, or would
like to participate in the 24T but need to be put on the appropriate team,
please submit the following information to Harry:
(as an example) "I am interested in being on a 12 hr Duo (or 12
hr 4 person, 24 hr 4 person, 24 hr 6 person team, etc,) and my experience
level is X and I want to ski Y hard." We will do our best
to hook you up with the right squad.
Russ Brethauer has entered the ring in the 24hr Solo Freak category. He knows that many will be gunning to knock him off his Third place podium position in that category. The competition for the top spot and also the third place slot were very close at last years event. The excitement is growing.
Ski areas out west have gotten big early season dumps and some have already opened for skiing.
Wisconsin Master skier Chris Ransom answers the challange and is in for the 24T to go after regaining his title from Matt Aro.
2005 Solo Freak Male champion Matt Aro is the first registrant for the 2006 event. The gauntlet is down- any takers? Chris...?
Got trash talk? E-mail Harry and we'll post your humorous and well-spirited provocations here.
Eat Bowl Relax (EBR) will return to attack the Classic Field. We will
never learn. This year we will substitute our best skier 'The Idiot',
with the gimpy 'Insulter', who is skiing on a failing hip. Our training is
focused on complaining and irritating each other, so enjoy the show. We
have skied every 24T so far, and simply haven't gotten any smarter, or
faster......................
The Numbskis will remain numb again in 2006 as they will be outted from
a podium position after taking their lumps from the Chix & Hix on Stix
and others.
Jimmy VB needs you ...... RINGER. Cheers. Team Captain,
C&H on Stix
Watch out. This year we might even train before the race. Be afraid, be very afraid-- The Rookie Team
